Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi was arrested yesterday for what has been referred to as disorderly conduct. Sources say that the 22-year-old was drinking before she became apparently drunk in public and caused a scene. Though reports have not been released confirming that she was drinking, sources who witnessed the event say they saw her drinking earlier. Does Snooki’s arrest show that Jersey Shore promotes irresponsible behavior?
Jersey Shore is far from controversy and it has been said that the cast engages in behavior that furthers many social problems and concerns, such as frequently visiting night clubs, party-hopping, and engaging in casual sex. There is no doubt that many societal ills facing young adults are worsened by the combination of casual sex and drinking and with the high rate of STD’s, it isn’t a view that someone wants to present as ‘fun’ or ‘acceptable.’

Snooki, whose real name is Nicole Polizzi, was arrested yesterday while filming Jersey Shore in Seaside Heights. Too bad for the reality TV star that the cameras were rolling to film her unfortunate situation. Though reports say that she was drunk, Radar Online reports that Snooki won’t be tested for alcohol since she wasn’t drinking and driving. Snooki was released from jail yesterday, it’s unclear what’s next for the star now that she’s been arrested, but more than likely she’ll be required to pay a fine.
No official statement has been released from Snooki or the Jersey Shore camp, but the photos and videos give plenty to speculate on. One video shows Snooki as she approaches a bicycle, is giggling as if she’s more than tipsy, than shows she is having clear trouble getting on the bike. Snooki fell to the ground with the bike while some onlookers asked if she was okay.
Other video showed Snooki on the beach sitting in the sand and refusing to stand up. When a police officer lead her by the arm, Snooki struggled and appeared to be resisting. Don’t worry, there were no charges of resisting arrest. Snooki is 22-years-old so she was the legal age for drinking.
However, for those who feel that ‘Snooki’ is less than a role model for teen girls and young adults, or that the Jersey Show in general promotes dangerous behavior, such as casual sex, the arrest may give more validity to the argument.

Snooki was arrested on July 30, 2010. Though an official statement hasn’t been released on behalf of Snooki, reports suggest that she was arrested for disorderly conduct. It is believed that she was drinking alcohol shortly before the arrest.
The ‘situation’ occurred while the group was filming for the wildly popular television show. Unfortunately for Snooki, there were plenty of photogs around, snapping photos of her embarrassing moment. You can see as J-Woww assists Snooki the best way she can but it was to no avail. Snooki was seen on the beach, giving the officers a difficult time and at one point before her arrest, she fell off her bike and landed face down on the sidewalk.
According to Radar Online, there isn’t going to be a big hoopla regarding whether or not Snooki was drinking. Radar quotes their sources as saying because Snooki wasn’t drinking and driving there wouldn’t be an investigation.

Kyron Horman’s parents, Desiree Young and Kaine Horman, held an additional press conference today. The press conference was not hosted by the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office and there were no officials present. Desiree and Kaine spoke about Kyron, Terri Horman, DeDe Spicher, and their belief that someone knows something about Kyron but may be afraid to tell.
It was asked if Desiree and Tony had used a psychic in the search for Kyron. Interestingly, Kaine answered that they were unaware of any psychics involved in the case. Psychic Sonja Grace has come forward saying that she had a vision of sorts regarding Kyron and believes that he was taken from Portland, Oregon to Washington and has since been moved. Many readers of Prime Writer News Network have shared their views and opinions regarding the use of psychics and some have voiced their feelings that it is time for the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office to use them.
Terri Horman has not been named a suspect or person of interest in the case. Throughout the press conference Kaine and Desiree would answer questions regarding Terri by saying that she needs to answer those questions herself.
When asked what possible motive Terri Horman might have for hiding Kyron somewhere, he said that she was the only person who could answer that question.

Kaine Horman and Desiree Young held a press conference today at 2:00 p.m., ET. The conference lasted approximately 30 minutes and they answered questions posed to them by reporters. The pair were noticeably more upset and Desiree brushed tears away from her eyes several times. You could hear the frustration in both their voices, but particularly in Kaine’s. They commented how they never thought Kyron would be missing for eight weeks.
They said that authorities have never referred to Terri Horman as a suspect when speaking to them. They also said that they are unaware of DeDe Spicher not cooperating with the investigation and at this point, are under the impression that she is speaking with authorities and is cooperative. When asked numerous questions regarding Terri, they answered, “Terri can answer that question.”
Unfortunately, Terri has not answered questions, she has not spoken to the media, she has not voiced concern for Kyron, she has not asked anyone to return Kyron and she has never addressed the public by stating that she is innocent of the allegations facing her. She has, however, hired a criminal defense attorney.
Kaine Horman asked anyone who has information on the case and may feel afraid of reactions from adults to put him or herself in Kyron’s shoes. Adults shouldn’t be afraid to report information they have; but rather they need to think of how fearful Kyron is and do what is necessary to bring him home.
Kyron Horman’s parents are holding another press conference today. Both Desiree Young and Kaine Horman are expected to speak. A recent press conference was held on Tuesday morning by the Multnomah County Sheriff’s office. Kyron Horman disappeared on June 4, 2010 and the last person to see him alive was his stepmother Terri Horman. It is unclear what will be said in the press conference. Many hoped that there would be a significant break in the case and that an arrest would soon be made.
The press conference will begin at 2:00 p.m., ET today.
The last press conference, held Tuesday, lasted less than ten minutes and did not name a suspect or person of interest in the case. Desiree Young tearfully spoke into the camera and told her missing son that she was coming to find him.
Ellen DeGeneres calls it quits, leaves American Idol after one season
Ellen DeGeneres announced that she will leave American Idol after one season. In a statement released Thursday, she said that she told producers for the hit reality show that she would leave and called her decision difficult. In addition to American Idol, Ellen DeGeneres host her eponymous show and she said that she had underestimated the toll working both shows would have.
“It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for.” She also said that the show didn’t feel like the right thing for her to do. “A couple of months ago, I let FOX and the American Idol producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me.” Ellen’s statement explains the remark.
She said that she loved discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, but found it hard to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings.
The following statements were released from Fox and American Idol.
“We love Ellen and understand and support her decision to bow out of IDOL,” said Peter Rice, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Networks Group. “We were fortunate to receive the humor, energy and love for talent that she brought to the show.”
“It was a joy to work with Ellen,” added Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. “She brought an incredible spirit to IDOL and was a great new addition to the team. While we’re saddened by her decision, we are very appreciative that she gave us ample notice so that we could work through it together.”
“I loved Ellen’s passion for the artists and her nurturing skills,” said IDOL creator and executive producer Simon Fuller. “She brought honesty and optimism to our judging panel and I will miss her greatly.”
“We will miss Ellen, she has been the consummate professional throughout her time on the show, and she’ll always be part of the AMERICAN IDOL family,” added Cecile Frot-Coutaz, IDOL executive producer.

Ellen DeGeneres will leave American idol after one season. A statement was released by both Fox and Ellen DeGeneres on Thursday. The following is the statement released by Ellen regarding her decision to leave.
“A couple months ago, I let FOX and the AMERICAN IDOL producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me. I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next.
It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings.
I loved the experience working on IDOL and I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.”
American Idol creator, Simon Fuller, stated that he loved Ellen’s passion and nurturing quality she brought to the show. He said, “She brought honesty and optimism to our judging panel and I will miss her greatly.”
There hasn’t been an official word on Ellen’s replacement. Her exit leaves two openings on the judging panel now that Simon Cowell has left as well. Rumors say that Bret Michaels and Jennifer Lopez are being considered.
Mitrice Richardson case news: Possible sightings of Mitrice Richardson in Las Vegas (video)
Mitrice Richardson has been missing since September 2009. Now, new leads in the case have given hope to the investigation and the possibility that Mitrice may soon be found. There have been several reported sightings of Mitrice in Las Vegas, Nevada. The leads have been deemed credible enough that investigators are following them.
According to LAPD Captain Kevin McClure, the recent sighting is the first real lead in Mitrice’s case. During a press conference held today, it was asked that Mitrice call her family and let them know she is okay. “If Mitrice is here in Las Vegas, we ask her to please call her family,” he said during the press conference. He also asked for Mitrice to call the Los Angeles Police Department or the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
But is Mitrice well enough to call home? Has she suffered a mental breakdown and maybe not even know who she is?
Mitrice Richardson went missing after what has been reported as strange behavior at a restraint. On September 16, 2009, Mitrice was dining at Geoffrey’s restaurant in Malibu, California but could not pay for her dinner. She was arrested and taken into custody. It is believed that she was suffering from severe bipolar disorder, and may have had some sort of break with reality. She was taken into custody and brought to Agoura Hills Los Angeles County Sheriff’s station. The officers who held her said that she seemed fine and released her at 1:25 a.m.
Mitrice had no car, no cell phone, no money, no purse, wallet or form of identification . She simply walked out the door and hasn’t been seen since. Some have expressed concern that racism played a factor and the decision to release Mitrice without identifying her medical needs was neglectful and resulted in her disappearance.

Kyron Horman case news: Read Terri Horman motion to delay divorce proceedings
As the search for Kyron Horman continues, a divorce is underway between Kyron’s father and stepmother: Kaine and Terri Horman. On July 28, 2010, attorney for Terri Horman, Peter Bunch, filed a declaration and motion to hold the divorce proceedings in abatement. Peter Bunch said that due to the intense scrutiny and media attention that Terri Horman is receiving due to the disappearance of Kyron Horman, Peter Bunch said that it is impossible for him to proceed with divorce related issues as he normally would. Peter Bunch also suggested that the intense media scrutiny would hinder the ability to find a psychologist who could interview both parents to make recommendations on custody and parenting issues.
He spoke of how the media attention factors in to the search for a psychologist, “As the court is aware, virtually any action associated with Respondent [Terri Horman] is subject to media attention. For example, Respondent’s informal request to receive the minimal financial assistance to move from the family home, something that would be an ordinary request in any divorce, resulted in unflattering media reports about this matter.
He continued, “I am concerned that any ordinary requests for discovery by me, or my using other normal family law procedures will be adversely impacted by the continuing scrutiny and speculation surrounding my client [Terri Horman]. Further should Petitioner[Kaine Horman] engage in discovery, because of the current investigation, Respondent’s [Terri Horman’s] ability to respond is compromised.”

Kyron Horman case update: Terri Horman arrest, divorce, psychics and money
Though many are waiting the arrest of Terri Horman or for a big announcement to be made in the case, it appears this is media hype and not actually based on anything stated by authorities investigating the case. Rumors have spread across the web saying that Terri Horman might be arrested at any moment for her involvement in the disappearance of Kyron Horman.
As of today, Terri Horman is not a suspect in the case, and has not been named a person of interest. Officials with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, who are the lead investigators in Kyron’s case, say they have not spoken to Terri Horman since Kaine Horman moved out of the house nearly a month ago. Authorities have not made any public statements incriminating Terri Horman, though they did hand out a flyer asking residents to provide information on the last day Kyron was seen alive, June 4, 2010.
Terri Horman and Kaine Horman are in the midst of a divorce and Kaine alleges that Terri Horman spent over $300,000 to retain Stephen Houze as a criminal defense attorney. Terri’s divorce attorney, Peter Branch filed paperwork stating that figure is not true and that Terri Horman is in financial need and does not have money. Kaine Horman’s attorney, Laura Rackner, file an order to show cause, requesting the court force Terri Horman to reveal the funds she has available for legal defense, and that those funds be determined to be a marital asset. If they are deemed marital assets, they would be split 50/50 and Kaine says he needs half of that money to pay for his attorney fees.
The debate about using psychics in the case is growing stronger; especially now that one psychic has said she has received a vision about Kyron and is waiting to hear back from authorities so that she may assist in the case. Sonja Grace says that she saw Kyron in a vision in Washington, then moved to another state. She has followers who state that she helped locate the remains of missing Austin King and helped locate 6 missing children this year alone.
Terri Horman’s attorney requests that divorce proceedings are delayed in the case due to the media scrutiny and possible bias or prejudice towards his client. Peter Branch explained that it will take a while to find workers to assist in the divorce on behalf of his client, Terri Horman, that will come to the case without prior judgments.
