veterans dayThis Veterans Day, members of the military can get free meals at Applebees. The offer is good for the entire day and proof of military service is required. Active military personnel may wear their uniforms and ids to prove their service. Applebees lists a number of different criteria that will be used to verify identification. They are as follows:

• U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card

• U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card

• Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES)

• Veterans Organization Card (i.e., American Legion and VFW)

• Photograph in uniform

• Wearing uniform

• DD214

• Citation or Commendation

It’s important to check with your local Applebees and make certain that the restaurant is participating and the offer applies to a select menu. For more information you may view the Applebees menu here.

The special is only for today and beverages are not included. A commercial on Applebees website states that they are providing the meals free of charge to show their gratitude and thankfulness for the service provided by military personnel this Veterans Day. In addition to beverages, gratuity is not included as well.

thank you very much for remembering all veterans with the free meal . i think it is outstanding .i have never heard of anyone doing so much for our vets, all of them past and present. i don’t know whose idea it was but they deserve a big pat on the back. i know the vets appriciate it . I eat there when i can but today was extra special for me and all the other vets . THANK YOU AGAIN

I just finished a Free Vets Meal from Applebees . It was just great !! I went there with a friend named Jerry . He had a steak and potatoes entree and I had Chicken Penne with 3 different cheeses. Talk about a delicious meal . We were actually stuffed. The restaurant treated us like Kings. Its nice to have someone treat Veterans with a smile and great service.
I can’t wait till next year!!
