Alligator feeding frenzy at Okefenokee Swamp Park caught on video tape (video of alligators)
A Georgia fisherman, Ray Cason, thought he was simply going fishing but embarked upon what could have been a lethal situation. The incident occurred in Clinch County, Georgia and Ray managed to catch a good majority of the alligators on tape in what can only be described as a ‘feeding frenzy.’
Ray Cason estimated there were 300 alligators in the Okefenokee Swamp park, which is a notational wildlife refuge. Seeing alligators at Okefenokee Swamp is not unusual, but seeing more than 300 as they apparently are engaging in mutual behavior to find food is.
Ray was on his way to go fishing at approximately 6:30 in the morning to go fishing when he stumbled upon the rare site. Jerry Waters, who is with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources said that most people, even those who work at the Okefenokee Swamp Park have yet to see such an amazing and unbelievable encounter.
It is believed that the feeding frenzy took place because the water was low, there was an abundance of food and it can only happen during feeding time.
Thankfully, Ray Cason wasn’t the meal. He just sailed on through the site in his aluminum boat.
