Casey Anthony latest news: Why is Casey’s defense investigating George Anthony
Casey Anthony and attorney Jose Baez discuss notes
It may just be the strangest twist in the Casey Anthony case to date: the investigation of Casey’s father, George Anthony. Why is Casey’s defense investigating George Anthony? Does the defense honestly hope to prove that George had something to do with the murder of his granddaughter?
The latest news has left many shocked and perplexed, but according to legal experts it isn’t surprising. As Casey Anthony’s defense attorneys, they are required to leave no stone unturned.
In a recent report by WESH, who has followed the case of the accused Orlando mother from the beginning, Jose Baez explained the investigation.
“We’re obligated to investigate everything… The loss of Caylee and the pain it has caused the family is very relevant to mitigation.”
Still, many have expressed puzzlement that the focus has shifted to George Anthony.
George Anthony has supported his daughter from the beginning of the case. George also attempted suicide before authorities stepped in and prevented the act. Casey Anthony has accused George Anthony of possibly sexually abusing her, a claim that George Anthony has denied through his attorney Brad Conway.
In recently released jailhouse letters from George Anthony to Casey, George expressed his heartbreak that Casey had made the accusations.
Casey Anthony’s trial is scheduled to begin on May 9, 2011. If convicted of first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee Marie Anthony, she will face the death penalty.
Casey Anthony update: Defense focuses on George Anthony, Judge Perry to focus on Baez tapes
Casey Anthony and attorney Jose Baez discuss notes
After Casey Anthony appeared in court last week for what may have been the most important court hearing to date, there are more developments in the case. What may be the most shocking of events in the Casey Anthony case, is the news that Casey’s defense attorneys are investigating George Anthony.
According to reports by WESH and WSTV, Casey’s defense is investigating George Anthony’s suicide attempt. In other news, Judge Perry has ordered that a copy of the ‘Baez tapes’ secretly recorded conversations between Jose Baez and an inmate Robin Lunceford, be handed over to him. Sources say that Jose Baez spoke on the phone with Robin who claims that she has information that Maya Derkovic falsified her story that Casey said she used chloroform to ‘knock out’ Caylee.
It is unclear whether Jose Baez said anything incriminating on the tape but he does not want them made public. It also remains unknown whether Jose Baez will try to connect George Anthony to Caylee’s murder. A reporter with WDBO says that they have proof that Casey’s defense team has approached the Daytona Beach Hotel, where George Anthony stayed when he attempted suicide.
What is the defense trying to prove by investigating George Anthony?
Casey Anthony latest: George, Cindy and Lee Anthony in court (watch Casey’s live court hearing)
Casey Anthony court hearing
Casey Anthony is in court along with her brother, Lee Anthony, father George Anthony and mother Cindy Anthony. There is a good chance that Lee and Cindy will be called to the stand to testify regarding the 911 calls made by Cindy Anthony on July 15, 2008.
Currently, the attorneys and prosecution have been called to the front for a sidebar with Judge Belvin Perry. Cindy looks extremely anxious and you can see her sighing, George seems distance as he sits with a blank stare on his face, and Lee Anthony hasn’t seen his sister for a very long time. Newly released documents showed that Casey Anthony made sexual abuse allegations against her father, George Anthony and her brother, Lee Anthony.
It is unclear whether they are angry or upset with Casey regarding the allegations. They did release a statement through their attorney, Brad Conway, stating that the allegations were false.
The court hearing is underway and they are now addressing the 911 calls. Cindy Anthony is called to the stand to testify.
Casey Anthony latest: Casey’s family tries to save home from foreclosure
Casey Anthony
Casey Anthony’s parents: George and Cindy Anthony are trying to save their home from foreclosure. A hearing was scheduled for today, in regards to the foreclosure of the home at 4937 Hopespring Drive in Orlando but it was cancelled at the last minute. Though it may appear that the foreclosure of the home has little to do with the Casey Anthony case, that may not be entirely true.
Cindy and George Anthony are having financial difficulty, evidenced by the fact they are losing their home. The home is the same one where little Caylee Anthony lived from the time of her birth. The woman who claims to have had an affair with George Anthony, River Cruz, told authorities that she had continually given money to George Anthony ($5,000) due to his money troubles. Does this give River Cruz more credibility? Attorney for George Anthony, Brad Conway, denies that George and River Cruz (whose real name is Krystal Holloway) had an affair and he denies that Krystal Holloway gave George Anthony money.
Many have speculated how much money the Anthony’s have gained from interviews, apparently what they’ve earned hasn’t gone towards their mortgage payments.
According to public records, the home was purchased for $90,000 in 1989, then refinanced in 2005 for $121,180. The Anthony’s monthly mortgage payments are $785.00 and they are behind at least $7,000. They have entered into mediation with the lender.

Casey Anthony update: Casey’s family denies sexual abuse claim
Casey Anthony
One of the revelations disclosed in the recent publicized Casey Anthony letters is that Casey Anthony says she was sexually abused as a child. Casey wrote in the letters to fellow inmate Robyn Adams, “The worst part is, when I tried to confide in someone before they turned on me. I was to blame for my own brother walking into my room at night and feeling my breasts while I slept.”
Casey also stated that she believes her father, George Anthony, may have also acted inappropriately with her when she was a child. Casey Anthony’s family denied the claim through a statement released through their attorney Brad Conway.
“The Anthony family denies that there was any improper sexual behavior in their family nor was there ever a time when Casey told them of sexually inappropriate contact by her brother or father.”
The reaction to the comment from the public has been mixed. Some have commented that Casey is a pathological liar and you can’t believe anything that she says. Others have stated that the sexual abuse allegations make sense, and that sexual abuse is often a factor when mother’s murder. Casey Anthony maintains her plea of not guilty and states that the last time she saw Caylee Anthony, she was with her nanny, Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez.
Still, some feel that the statement may work to Casey’s benefit. Should she be found guilty and face the death penalty, it’s possible that the story of abuse may come in during the death penalty phase to account for her character and psychological frame of mind.
Casey Anthony case: witnesses say Casey was happy after Caylee disappeared
Casey Anthony
New evidence has been released in the Casey Anthony case and much of it includes witness statements from volunteers who were involved in the search for little Caylee. Some of the information shows that witnesses who were present in the Casey Anthony home when Casey had been released from jail state that Casey was not concerned about the search for Caylee and one stated that Casey appeared to be “headed to cheerleading camp.”
Other information that may be a shocking blow to the defense includes testimony that George Anthony sat down with Casey and drew out a map, asking Casey to pinpoint the location where Caylee’s body was. Tim Miller, of Texas EqquSearch testified that Casey Anthony was always cheerful during the search.
According to released documents, Tim Miller, George Anthony, and Casey Anthony sat at the table and George asked Casey to pinpoint where the volunteers should begin searching for Casey. Casey Anthony left the table and returned to her room, never showing where they should begin looking for Caylee. This took place after Tim Miller had suggested to George that they need to conduct a ground search, implying that little Caylee Anthony may no longer be alive.
The report says that at the news, Cindy Anthony became enraged and kicked the volunteers out of the home.
What might be most damaging of all, however, is the report that the entire time they were searching Casey Anthony never once said Caylee Anthony’s name. However, the defense may turn around and say that they had instructed Casey Anthony not to speak to anyone the four days that Tim Miller was at the Anthony home spearheading the search for Caylee.
Casey Anthony case: George Anthony mistress claims could have serious impact
Casey Anthony
The woman making claims that she had an affair with George Anthony may have a serious impact on the Casey Anthony case. Whether or not George Anthony was involved in an extramarital affair is irrelevant to the case. What is important, however, is her statement that George Anthony told her that Caylee Anthony died accidentally. If the claims of River Cruz are true, that would indicate that George Anthony perjured himself on the stand.
It is too early to tell whether River Cruz is telling the truth or an attention seeker who may be a bit mentally unstable. If River Cruz is telling the truth and can back up her claim that George Anthony said that comment about Caylee, it would mean a world of trouble for George as he has previously made statements in support that Casey Anthony had left his home with Caylee on June 16, 2008. He has testified that was the last time he saw her alive.
Casey Anthony is scheduled for trial on May 9, 2011. She has stuck with her story that Caylee Anthony was abducted by a nanny, Zenaida Gonzalez.
Casey Anthony case: Did George Anthony have an affair?
Casey Anthony in court
The latest news in the Casey Anthony case is that her father, George Anthony had an affair. You might ask yourself what impact George’s infidelity would have on Casey Anthony’s murder trial, and you’re not alone. According to the newly named mistress, River Cruz, plenty. For in this new report, the alleged mistress claims that George Anthony told her Caylee’s death was an ‘accident’ that went out of control.
George Anthony has denied having an affair with the woman, through his attorney Brad Conway. River Cruz says she has photos and text messages to prove it. Orange County Sheriff’s are investigating the woman’s claims.
We can hear the prosecution pose that remark to a jury in the May 9, 2011 trial.
Was it an accident that Caylee Marie Anthony was found in the woods with duct tape wrapped around her skull?
Did she accidentally fall into a black trash bag and then accidentally tumble into an overgrown wooded, area that would soon crest with summer rains? Did someone in the Anthony home accidentally look up how to make chloroform and neck breaking?
An accident?
Wouldn’t George or Cindy have come forward before Casey Anthony faced the death penalty should Caylee have been killed in an accident?
Casey Anthony’s parents hire attorney in foreclosure suit
Casey Anthony’s parents, George and Cindy Anthony have hired attorney Mark Lippman to represent them in their foreclosure suit. The couple is in a desperate attempt to save the family home which also served as the dwelling place for their slain granddaughter, Caylee Anthony.
Bank of America began foreclosure proceedings last month, according to public records. Records also state that the couple owes more than $7,000. Meanwhile, their daughter, Casey Anthony continues to be in the process of what may be the most publicized trial of the new century.
Casey Anthony faces charges of first degree murder as prosecutors state that she gave her daughter, Caylee some type of sedative or something to render her unconscious, then purposefully placed duct tape across her mouth and nose, suffocating the little child to death, all the while feigning Caylee had been abducted by her nanny.
Casey Anthony failed to report her daughter missing for more than a month, though her parents, George and Cindy Anthony continue to be pro-active for the cause of missing children. They have stood by Casey’s side and believe that someone other than Casey is responsible for Caylee’s murder.
Casey Anthony’s trial is scheduled for May 9, 2011.
Casey Anthony was in court last Friday. During the court proceedings, she broke down and cried. It marked her first response to showing emotion over the death of her daughter Caylee Anthony that the public has seen. The tears are not without controversy, however, and many have questioned whether the tears were actually for Caylee or for herself.
Casey appeared in court due to her defense attorneys attempt to have the death penalty removed from her case. The emotional outburst wasn’t reserved for Casey alone. Cindy and George Anthony were also distraught as the prosecutor laid out how they believed Caylee Anthony had died.
